Ed Balsmann Bio

Ed Balsmann is a managing director and assistant general counsel in the Piper Sandler private capital advisory group, Aviditi Advisors. Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Balsmann served as general counsel & chief compliance officer at Aviditi Advisors. Previously, Balsmann served as senior vice president, chief compliance officer and anti-money laundering officer at Jackson Life Distributors. Prior to that, he served as chief compliance officer, anti-money laundering compliance officer and regulatory counsel at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Balsmann received his Juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law and bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University.
