J.T. Stephens Bio

J.T. Stephens is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where he specializes in advising technology clients with a focus on the commerce enablement, consumer internet, and marketing software sectors. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, having advised boards and management teams on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and public and private equity and debt financings. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, J.T. was a Senior Managing Director of Tech Investment Banking at SVB Securities and served as Managing Director and Head of Internet and Consumer Software, Americas at UBS. Previously, he was a member of the Technology Investment Banking teams at RBC Capital Markets and Robertson Stephens. Earlier in his career, J.T. held leadership roles at Six Apart, a content management platform that catered to SMBs and at Overstock.com (NASDAQ: OSTK), an early pioneer in the eCommerce sector. J.T. holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. in Finance, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
